HER WHY
Constance was raised in Peoria public housing, where she witnessed firsthand the systemic injustice faced by underrepresented and BIPOC communities across housing, education, employment, banking, voting, health, wealth, and policing. That experience shaped a lifelong commitment: to help individuals and families break the cycles those systems were never built to let them escape.
That commitment is why Robinson's Bridge Institute exists.
Too many young adults age out of the very systems meant to support them, school-based services end, benefits shift, and there's no bridge into stable employment, housing, or financial independence. Constance built the Institute to be that bridge: certification, mentorship, and partnership standing in the gap where systemic support used to run out.
She shares the belief of Shirley Chisholm that progress isn't achieved by watching from the sidelines and complaining, but by putting ideas into action, and that intentional effort is what breaks down barriers. Robinson's Bridge Institute is that belief, in practice.
What changed: tightened a few phrases for flow, and added the middle paragraph connecting the lived experience directly to the Institute's founding purpose that's the piece that was missing before, and it's the strongest credibility line on the whole site, because it's not a marketing claim, it's her actual story.
